Offshore Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Blacksburg, Virginia, United States; international travel of up to approximately 50% required.

Salary: $70,000–$90,000 annually.

What you will do

• Support motor and resolver production lines and outsourced manufacturing vendors.
• Develop and oversee manufacturing processes with domestic and international teams.
• Review drawings, tooling, work instructions, labor standards, facility layouts, quotes, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
• Conduct mechanical and electrical manufacturing design reviews and recommend manufacturability improvements.
• Prepare operational performance, schedule, spending, and capital-expenditure reports for leadership.
• Coordinate technical exchanges with suppliers and support cross-training across manufacturing areas.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a bachelor’s degree with relevant manufacturing experience; alternatively, an associate degree with three years of related manufacturing experience.
• Experience communicating with internal and external customers, coworkers, and other business disciplines.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work independently in a team-based manufacturing environment.
• Ability to maintain confidential information and collaborate effectively with diverse international teams and clients.
• Ability to comply with ITAR and other applicable regulatory requirements; the role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.

Nice to have

• Manufacturing environment experience.
• Familiarity with lean principles and Six Sigma.
• Electromechanical or magnetic systems experience.
• Conversational English and Spanish bilingual ability.
