TL;DR
Films CVD / PVD Equipment Engineer (Semiconductor Manufacturing): Improving and maintaining CVD/PVD equipment in a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing environment with an accent on fault reduction, defectivity control, equipment availability, and cost reduction. Focus on troubleshooting Applied Materials platforms, developing maintenance procedures and specifications, applying Six-Sigma statistical process control, and leading cross-functional improvement activities.

What you will do

  • Identify and reduce recurring machine faults, defects, scrap, and operating costs.
  • Source and install new equipment while improving tool utilization and availability.
  • Define tool maintenance procedures and develop equipment specifications.
  • Analyze equipment performance data and create action plans to resolve recurring failures.
  • Apply Six-Sigma statistical process control methods, capacity planning, and modeling.
  • Train technicians and peers and participate in or lead cross-functional and lean activity teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering; Mechanical Engineering is desirable.
  • At least five years of equipment engineering experience in a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing environment.
  • Required experience with at least one of the following: Applied Materials Producer or Applied Materials Centura.
  • Ability to troubleshoot logically, isolate and repair equipment problems, and manage shifting priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain complex equipment problems and datasets.
  • Ability to work professionally with manufacturing technicians and process engineering teams.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Applied Materials Endura, Ultima, or RTA platforms.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing methods.
  • Creative problem-solving and out-of-the-box thinking.
