Software Engineer (AI)

Location: San Francisco, United States; hybrid work model with in-office and remote flexibility

Salary: $170,000–$200,000 annually, plus equity

What you will do

• Build and ship member-facing reconciliation and bookkeeping features, as well as internal tools for accounting and bookkeeping operators.
• Extend integrations with banking and accounting partners through APIs and improve reliability when handling real-world data.
• Improve transaction pipelines from bank feeds through the accounting platform into the data layer, including observability and source-to-destination drift detection.
• Own well-scoped features from technical definition and implementation through deployment, instrumentation, and iteration.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Operations, and the internal accounting team to translate workflows into software and evaluate tradeoffs.
• Use AI-powered development tools, code copilots, agents, and agent workflows to accelerate development and support product capabilities.

Requirements

• 3–4 years of experience building and shipping production software in a product-focused environment.
• Solid fullstack engineering skills with Python, Django, React, or similar modern frameworks.
• Experience integrating third-party APIs and working with messy, real-world data.
• Hands-on day-to-day experience with AI developer tools such as copilots and code agents.
• Ability to drive well-scoped features to shipped, instrumented solutions with light guidance.
• Experience with SQL and data warehouses, plus clear communication with technical and non-technical partners.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with BigQuery.
• Interest in accounting, fintech, or payroll, or a demonstrated ability to learn new domains quickly.
