Software Engineer, Full Stack (AI)

Location: New York City, United States; flexible hybrid model with in-office work typically 3–4 days per week. Relocation reimbursement is available for candidates moving to NYC.

Salary: Senior Engineer $190,000–$250,000 per year plus equity; Staff Engineer $240,000–$280,000 per year plus equity.

What you will do

• Build intuitive tools and AI-powered features that transform legal workflows.
• Develop product-facing workflows and user interfaces for legal associates, partners, and operations teams.
• Build scalable, reusable, and fault-tolerant backend services.
• Develop document processing, AI orchestration, and integration pipelines.
• Collaborate with design, client engagement, engineering teams, platform teams, and end users to deliver and iterate on product ideas.
• Use AI practically in day-to-day work to improve thinking, creation, problem-solving, and delivery workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or an equivalent field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of production experience writing application-layer Python.
• 2+ years of production experience with React and TypeScript or similar technologies.
• Experience with Postgres or a similar database and production API development using FastAPI or a similar framework.
• Experience with database scaling problems, AWS infrastructure or similar, and highly configured UIs connected to editable database schemas.
• Ability to work in a hybrid model in New York City, typically in the office 3–4 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with complex AI-driven products, streamed outputs, or dynamic agentic site navigation.
• Experience working with PDFs, Excel, or file-driven products.
• Experience at an early-stage startup.
• Interest in iterating on products with customers.
