TL;DR
Team Lead, Ground Operations (3rd Shift) (Automotive): Leading overnight fleet maintenance, vehicle rework, software deployment, and mission-readiness activities with an accent on team leadership, technical escalation, and fleet availability. Focus on optimizing maintenance workflows, enforcing workshop safety, analyzing vehicle issues, and preparing autonomous vehicles for daytime operations.

Location: Atlanta, GA, United States; on-site. Shift: Sunday–Thursday, 11:30pm–8:00am.

Base salary range: not specified.

What you will do

  • Lead vehicle technicians and readiness and response associates during the overnight shift.
  • Direct fleet maintenance, rework, technical escalations, pre-mission checks, and readiness checklist completion.
  • Ensure the correct software and firmware are deployed to vehicles for morning operations.
  • Manage vehicle movement, storage, ingest, and yard logistics across shift transitions.
  • Recruit, onboard, train, schedule, and coach workshop personnel while tracking KPIs.
  • Improve overnight workflows using lean methodologies and support root cause analysis of vehicle and component issues.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on automotive technician experience and 2+ years of people leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Availability and ability to lead third-shift overnight operations.
  • Extensive knowledge of automotive maintenance, diagnostics, parts, and tools, including CAN/LIN architecture, wiring diagrams, and soldering.
  • Strong communication, prioritization, multitasking, and technical translation skills.
  • Clean driving record and ability to travel locally and nationally for less than 20% of the time.
  • Ability to enforce health and safety policies, including OSHA guidelines.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field, technical trade school certificate, or associate degree in automotive repair.
  • Experience with electric vehicle architecture and high-voltage systems.
  • Experience in a fast-paced service environment.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
