HVAC Data Center Support Technician

Location: Tempe, Arizona; field-based work conducted on-site at customer locations

Salary: $28.64–$54.26 per hour

What you will do

• Start up chillers according to design submittals and commissioning requirements.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical chiller performance and operational issues.
• Evacuate chillers, troubleshoot leaks, transfer refrigerant, and maintain refrigerant activity reports.
• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on designated HVAC equipment.
• Coordinate with service leaders, project managers, project engineers, and customers on installations, retrofits, and site requirements.
• Maintain safety, equipment accountability, customer satisfaction, and provide coaching to less experienced technicians.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 5+ years of HVAC experience with systems-level expertise.
• EPA Universal Certification.
• Valid driver’s license held for at least 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations or preventable collisions in the previous three years.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and handheld devices such as smartphones or iPads.
• Ability to work in noisy mechanical rooms, extreme weather, precarious locations, and areas with high-voltage electrical-shock risks; regular lifting, walking, stooping, and kneeling are required.

Nice to have

• Technical school or formal technical training.
• Knowledge of refrigeration theory, electrical troubleshooting, and mechanical systems.
