TL;DR
Electrical & Systems Test Engineer (Vehicle Systems): Designing, developing, and validating electrical and mechanical components and assemblies for industrial lift trucks with an accent on test planning, instrumentation, vehicle networks, and reliability. Focus on collecting and analyzing test data, troubleshooting root causes, supporting prototype and initial production runs, and documenting engineering decisions.

Location: Greenville, North Carolina, United States; onsite at the Test and Validation Center

What you will do

  • Design and develop components and assemblies for industrial vehicles to meet performance, durability, and reliability requirements.
  • Create and maintain design specifications and technical documentation supporting manufacturing throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Plan and execute testing and validation using data acquisition systems, instrumentation, sensors, and test equipment.
  • Collect, analyze, and present test data to support engineering decisions, design reviews, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
  • Work with manufacturing teams during prototype, pilot, and initial production runs to optimize products for efficient and cost-effective production.
  • For Engineer II scope, manage project tasks and priorities and provide guidance and training to project team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required; Electrical Engineering is preferred, with Electro-Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science also considered.
  • Engineer I: 0–2 years of industry experience; Engineer II: 2–4 years of industry experience.
  • Knowledge or experience in test planning, validation methods, technical documentation, engineering analysis, and structured problem solving.
  • Experience with or knowledge of data acquisition tools, instrumentation, sensors, test equipment, engineering drawings, schematics, and test procedures.
  • Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, controls, PLC programming, CAN communication systems, vehicle network diagnostics, and system-level interactions.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment safely and to work independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
