Director, Legal Innovation & Operations (Knowledge, Technology & AI Enablement)

Location: Hybrid; work from the New York, NY or Universal City, CA office at least four days per week

Salary: $110,000–$140,000 yearly, plus bonus and long-term incentive eligibility

What you will do

• Own the Legal Department’s knowledge-management operating model, including content governance, permissions, review cycles, archiving, search, and knowledge reuse.
• Map legal workflows, maintain a prioritized improvement backlog, sponsor high-impact solutions, and establish accountable owners and measurable outcomes.
• Develop and scale legal playbooks, precedents, policies, practice guidance, self-service toolkits, and document-management standards.
• Govern end-to-end data flows across legal intake, matters, agreements, documents, knowledge, and reporting systems.
• Develop AI enablement and use-case priorities, oversee authorized pilots, remove operational barriers, and drive adoption and value realization.
• Lead measurement and insights, report portfolio performance quarterly, and coach direct reports while partnering with Legal, Data, Systems, Operations, and Technology teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years of experience in legal operations, knowledge management, legal technology, process improvement, program management, AI enablement, or a related field.
• Experience owning complex roadmaps or portfolios and translating strategy into sequenced initiatives, operating plans, adoption, and measurable outcomes.
• Hands-on experience implementing or scaling technology, knowledge, AI, workflow, or automation programs in a large, matrixed organization.
• Experience in a corporate legal department, law firm, legal-services organization, or comparable legal environment.
• Strong facilitation, analytical, problem-solving, change-management, and user-adoption skills.

Nice to have

• Experience implementing or optimizing legal intake, document-management, contract-management, workflow-automation, or knowledge-management platforms.
• Experience leading AI enablement, adoption, use-case, or governance programs.
• Experience in entertainment or media.
