Design Engineer (Aquaculture Systems)

Location: Homestead, Florida, United States. Onsite work in a combined office and production environment within a 24/7 recirculating aquaculture facility.

Salary: $100–$100; compensation is commensurate with experience.

hirify.global is offering an engineering position supporting a continuous-operation aquaculture facility.

What you will do

• Design and optimize mechanical and process systems supporting recirculating aquaculture operations.
• Perform calculations involving fluid flow, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and hydraulic system performance.
• Develop equipment specifications, P&IDs, design packages, and technical documentation.
• Evaluate system performance and implement financially prioritized solutions to improve uptime, reliability, energy efficiency, and operational performance.
• Troubleshoot and optimize chillers, HVAC systems, pumps, valves, filtration systems, and chemical treatment processes.
• Lead root cause investigations, coordinate internal projects, and establish engineering standards and design best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, aquaculture, systems operations, or a related field.
• 5–10 years of engineering design experience in continuous industrial operations such as power generation, marine, utilities, water treatment, food processing, or chemical plants.
• Experience developing engineering calculations, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Plant3D, Revit, or similar engineering software.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a biologically sensitive production environment.

Nice to have

• Advanced technical or master’s degree.
• Marine engineering, Navy engineering, or merchant marine operations experience.
