Technical Handler Personal Injury Department

Location: Hybrid work from Liverpool or Sevenoaks, UK, across one or two sites

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00–17:30

Visa: Applicants must have at least one year remaining on a Graduate or Post-Study Work visa. Visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Manage a portfolio of technically complex, high-value, and litigated personal injury claims.
• Handle claims within delegated authority and refer matters exceeding authority.
• Review reserves, reduce claims leakage and spend, and drive early settlement through negotiation.
• Apply technical insurance knowledge when developing claims strategies and supporting business results.
• Assess when to engage barristers, solicitors, medical experts, adjusters, investigators, and rehabilitation providers.
• Train and support less experienced claims handlers, participate in auditing, and complete ad hoc business tasks.

Requirements

• Experience handling personal injury claims.
• Understanding of case law, statute, CPR, and Pre-Action Protocols.
• Ability to take ownership, use initiative, and pursue the best business outcome.
• Strong organisation and prioritisation skills with minimal supervision.
• Collaborative approach and ability to support other claims handlers.
• At least one year remaining on a Graduate or Post-Study Work visa; UK work eligibility is required.
