Senior Claims Handler (FTC)

Location: Leeds, UK — hybrid, 4 days in the office and 1 day from home

What you will do

• Manage a diverse and complex caseload from initial notification through settlement.
• Handle claims across employers’ liability, public liability, professional indemnity and negligence, and personal injury.
• Manage claims involving management liability, cyber, commercial crime, inquests, and sensitive safeguarding matters.
• Develop claims strategies and make decisions with substantial ownership and autonomy.
• Work with policyholders, brokers, and solicitors to build strong customer relationships and deliver appropriate outcomes.
• Handle high-value and occasionally high-profile claims within the Care Claims team.

Requirements

• Experience in claims handling or a legal background as a solicitor or legal executive.
• Exposure to employers’ liability, public liability, personal injury, or professional negligence claims.
• Ability to manage complex cases independently.
• Strong communication and decision-making skills.
• Genuine interest in care-sector work and comfort handling sensitive and challenging cases.

Nice to have

• Experience in an insurance claims environment.
• Background in care, healthcare, or sensitive claims.
• Experience handling multi-line claims.
