Maintenance Technician (Bioprocessing)

Location: Onsite in Scotland, South Dakota, United States. Continuous plant operation may require 12-hour shifts and call-in coverage.

What you will do

• Perform safe repairs, preventive maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting across plant equipment and process systems.
• Maintain boiler, cooling tower, water testing, water filtration, pumps, motors, gearboxes, centrifuges, compressors, heat exchangers, conveyors, fans, blowers, and related equipment.
• Operate and maintain plant systems including DCS, PLCs, Maximo, material-handling machinery, and water-treatment equipment.
• Execute Lock Out Tag Out procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and support environmental, food safety, and quality compliance.
• Perform welding, cutting, fabrication, piping repair, and concrete work on plant and structural equipment.
• Document maintenance activities and inventory, coordinate with other departments, and train new maintenance team members.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Documented successful performance as a Maintenance Technician I or equivalent maintenance experience.
• Experience with equipment repair, fabrication, welding, cutting, boiler operations, water chemistry, conveyors, preventive maintenance, and metal or plastic piping systems.
• Knowledge of instrument and electrical work is preferred; experience with concrete work, hydraulics, pneumatics, fluid processes, and schematic drawings is helpful.
• Basic Microsoft Office knowledge and the ability to learn new programs.
• Ability to work at heights of approximately 150 feet, in confined spaces and extreme temperatures, operate heavy equipment, wear PPE, and pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen. Random drug and alcohol testing applies during employment.
