Field Service Engineer (HVAC)

Location: Davidson, North Carolina, United States; virtual work with customer-site visits and up to 40% travel

Salary: $75,700–$135,834.99 annual base salary

What you will do

• Provide remote technical support to installing contractors and field technicians for refrigeration break/fix repairs.
• Conduct site assessments and support complex troubleshooting during service execution.
• Perform remote diagnostic health checks, review service calls, and identify quality, continuous-improvement, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Assist with technician scheduling, quotes, service-provider coordination, and timely job administration.
• Support hiring, training, compliance, and technical development of internal and third-party service personnel.
• Organize and guide subcontracted construction crews during installation, startup, quality checks, and project milestone delivery.

Requirements

• Associate degree or accredited apprenticeship in refrigeration, HVAC, electrical, or related engineering technology plus 5 years of commercial or industrial refrigeration service experience; alternatively, a high school diploma/GED plus 10 years of related experience.
• At least 3 years of maintenance or service experience and a Universal EPA Refrigerant Certification are required.
• Broad mechanical repair knowledge and strong Microsoft Office and mobile-device skills.
• Strong communication, leadership, teamwork, initiative, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to travel up to 40% and provide scheduled after-hours, weekend, and holiday technical assistance.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Management.
• Additional commercial or industrial refrigeration, HVAC, and electrical service leadership experience.
