Staff Software Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Mountain View, California; hybrid work with 3 days in-office and 2 days remote. Must be able to report to the local office. Up to 20% domestic travel is required.

Salary: $274,098.60–$333,400.00 annually, plus potential incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Develop high-performance hardware interfaces, FreeRTOS/SafeRTOS-based real-time operating systems, Linux kernel drivers, and system libraries.
• Architect frameworks for next-generation SoC-based systems from conception through production.
• Participate in requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and integration across the software development lifecycle.
• Develop safety-critical embedded software for automotive and industrial applications.
• Work with embedded hardware architectures, processors, memory management, peripherals, and communication protocols.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least five years of experience as a Software Engineer or in a related occupation.
• Five years of experience with embedded software development, C/C++ programming, and commercial embedded systems.
• Experience with RTOS, specifically FreeRTOS and SafeRTOS, and Linux-based embedded operating systems.
• Experience with safety-critical software development and ASIL B and ASIL D standards in automotive or industrial domains.
• Experience with CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, and Linux kernel subsystems including UART.
