Senior Software Engineer - High Level OS (Automotive)

Location: Pittsburgh, PA; Palo Alto, CA; or Detroit, MI. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis.

Salary: $179,200–$268,800 USD base salary annually for positions in California, plus eligibility for annual bonuses, equity compensation, and company benefits.

What you will do

• Produce, test, and maintain board support packages for multiple hardware platforms.
• Develop custom bootchains and maintain the Linux operating system for automated driving platforms.
• Implement secure boot mechanisms and recovery boot workflows.
• Manage CVEs throughout the platform lifecycle and configure IPC between real-time and application domains.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and systems engineers to deliver production automotive products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, robotics, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience; equivalent master’s or PhD pathways are accepted.
• Experience with Yocto/OpenEmbedded, Buildroot, or similar Linux packaging technologies.
• Experience developing Linux device drivers for Ethernet, GPU, PCIe, UFS, eMMC, or OSPI devices.
• Bootloader experience with technologies such as U-Boot or UEFI.
• Experience with Secure Boot, dm-verity, fscrypt, and other production security technologies, plus strong embedded C++ development skills.
• Permanent authorization to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is available.

Nice to have

• 5+ years of system-level or embedded software development experience.
• Experience with OP-TEE Trusted Applications, Arm Trusted Firmware, or heterogeneous multi-processor SoC platforms.
• Experience with Google Test, Python, Bazel, Docker, or developer productivity infrastructure.
