VP Software & Controls Engineering

What you will do

• Develop and execute the long-term Software & Controls Engineering strategy, operating model, standards, governance, KPIs, and investment plans.
• Lead global engineering organizations across embedded software, controls, BMS, EMS, Site Controller, SCADA, cloud applications, fleet management, edge computing, APIs, and digital products.
• Drive software design reviews, release readiness, Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, software lifecycle management, and release governance.
• Oversee software engineering from product concept through validation, deployment, sustainment, feature enhancement, and end-of-life planning.
• Lead development of advanced controls, optimization algorithms, AI, machine learning, predictive analytics, cloud-native architectures, digital twins, and engineering productivity platforms.
• Build a high-performing global organization through workforce planning, succession management, coaching, career paths, technical leadership programs, and budget management.

Requirements

• 20+ years of progressive software engineering leadership experience in complex industrial or enterprise product environments.
• 10+ years leading global Software Engineering organizations.
• Demonstrated success delivering embedded software, controls, cloud platforms, and digital products at scale.
• Expertise in embedded software, controls, cloud technologies, DevSecOps, CI/CD, cybersecurity, software quality, and release management.
• Experience with Agile development, software lifecycle management, NPI, and cross-functional product development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree, MBA, or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in energy storage, industrial automation, automotive, power systems, or similar industries.
• Experience with RTOS, edge computing, AI and machine learning, digital twins, and product lifecycle management.
