Director of Strategic Sourcing and Purchasing (Insurance)

Location: Daytona Beach, Florida, USA; full-time, onsite role.

Brown & Brown operates in the insurance sector and is building an organization-wide procurement function.

What you will do

• Define and implement an enterprise-wide procurement strategy aligned with business goals, risk appetite, and compliance requirements.
• Build and lead the procurement team, including direct hires, internal teammates, and professional consultants.
• Lead strategic sourcing for IT systems, CRM platforms, marketing agencies, compliance services, office supplies, and facilities.
• Manage RFIs, RFPs, contract negotiations, supplier onboarding, performance monitoring, and preferred supplier programs.
• Evaluate procurement tools, contract management systems, e-sourcing platforms, and ERP integrations.
• Partner with Finance, IT, Legal, Compliance, Claims, Underwriting, Operations, and other business units to manage vendor risk and deliver measurable savings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field.
• 10+ years of procurement or strategic sourcing experience, preferably in professional services or financial or insurance services.
• Strong knowledge of vendor management practices and procurement technology tools.
• Experience with insurance operations, compliance, vendor risk management, data privacy, and cybersecurity requirements.
• Familiarity with GDPR, SOC 2, and FINRA or SEC regulatory guidelines.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, influence change, and deliver cost savings and procurement improvements.

• Procurement certification such as CIPS or CPSM.
