Collections Specialist (Early Stage)

Location: Hybrid role in Millsboro, Delaware; four days per week in the office at 499 Mitchell Street, Millsboro, DE 19966. Candidates must live within reasonable commuting distance.

Salary: $18.00–$28.31 USD

What you will do

• Make and receive a high volume of customer calls using automated dialing technology.
• Discuss past-due accounts approximately 30–90 days delinquent and identify appropriate repayment solutions.
• Recommend payment plans and programs for credit cards, auto loans, recreational vehicle loans, and overdraft accounts.
• Document customer interactions accurately in internal systems while navigating multiple applications.
• Research account issues, identify potential fraud or insurance concerns, and escalate when appropriate.
• Answer questions from customers and internal business partners while following regulatory, compliance, and operational risk requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of relevant work experience.
• Strong verbal communication, phone etiquette, empathy, professionalism, and rapport-building skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, documentation, computer, multitasking, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly and work in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
• Availability for four weekday shifts from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., one weekday shift from 12:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and one to two Saturdays per month from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Nice to have

• Collections experience.
• Customer service, retail sales and service, contact center, banking, financial services, account servicing, or consumer lending experience.
• Strong computer proficiency with business software applications.
