Lecturer in Sports Science

Location: Onsite at Central London campuses in Holborn and Fitzrovia; must be flexible to travel to all campus locations. The schedule may include evenings and weekends.

Salary: Up to £48,000 per annum, subject to skills and experience.

What you will do

• Deliver lectures, seminars, and tutorials across Sports Science modules.
• Design and update teaching materials and maintain digital learning platforms.
• Set, assess, and provide feedback on student assignments and examinations.
• Provide academic and pastoral support, including support for students with learning needs.
• Contribute to quality assurance, module and programme evaluations, and continuous curriculum improvement.
• Lead modules and coordinate with associate lecturers where applicable.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a relevant Sports Science-related field.
• Experience teaching in higher education.
• Strong digital teaching capability and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of higher education quality assurance and validation processes.
• Flexible, student-focused approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Willingness to work towards a teaching qualification if not already held.

Nice to have

• PhD, near completion of a PhD, or equivalent industry experience.
• Involvement in research or enterprise activity.
• Teaching qualification such as FHEA, SHEA, PGCAP, or AHEA.
• Experience leading modules or academic teams.
