Lecturer in Sports Science

Location: Central London campuses in Holborn and Fitzrovia; face-to-face teaching with flexibility to travel to all campus locations. The 40-hour schedule may include evenings and weekends.

Salary: Up to £48,000 per annum, subject to skills and experience.

What you will do

• Deliver lectures, seminars, and tutorials across sport modules in line with curriculum standards.
• Design and update teaching materials and maintain digital learning platforms.
• Set, assess, and provide feedback on student assignments and examinations.
• Provide academic and pastoral support, including support for students with learning needs.
• Participate in quality assurance, module and programme evaluations, scholarship, and continuous curriculum improvement.
• Lead modules where applicable and coordinate with associate lecturers to improve student engagement and learning outcomes.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a relevant sports-related field.
• Teaching experience in higher education with strong digital teaching capability.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of higher education quality assurance and validation processes.
• A flexible, student-focused approach and commitment to continuous improvement.
• Willingness to work towards a teaching qualification if not already held.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week, including possible evenings and weekends, and travel to all campus locations.

Nice to have

• PhD, near-completion PhD, or equivalent industry experience.
• Involvement in research or enterprise activity.
• Teaching qualification such as FHEA, SHEA, PGCAP, or AFHEA.
• Experience leading modules or academic teams.
