Senior Claims Handler

Location: Liverpool, UK; hybrid working options available. Working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 6:00pm on a rota basis, plus one in five Saturdays from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Salary: £31,831 per year, plus up to £2,500 performance-related bonus once established in the role.

What you will do

• Investigate and manage a portfolio of motor claims from first notification through conclusion.
• Establish facts, assess liability, secure evidence and make informed indemnity and commercial decisions.
• Manage repairs, mobility solutions, total loss claims, recovery actions and cash settlements.
• Negotiate with customers, third-party insurers, solicitors, repairers, suppliers and other stakeholders.
• Maximise non-fault recoveries, minimise indemnity spend and identify leakage through early intervention.
• Use data, technology, automation and AI-enabled tools to improve claim outcomes, efficiency and resolution speed.

Requirements

• Previous motor claims handling experience.
• Strong liability investigation and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to balance customer needs with fair outcomes.
• Proactive problem-solving skills, sound judgement and an interest in continuous improvement.
• Applicants must have at least one year remaining on a Graduate or Post-Study Work visa; visa sponsorship is not available.
