Territory Production Underwriter - Middle Market Construction Insurance (Construction Insurance)

Location: Remote/work-from-home within a territory likely covering California and/or the Pacific Northwest; preferred locations include Los Angeles, Sacramento, Seattle, Portland, and Boise. Heavy travel to agency relationships and extended stays may be required.

Salary: $112,000–$209,000 national range; expected starting range of $112,000–$168,000 annually.

What you will do

• Market, manage, quote, price, and underwrite complex commercial middle market construction accounts.
• Drive territory production, profitability, retention, and service objectives through agency business plans.
• Analyze risks, agency books of business, underwriting performance, market conditions, and competitive trends.
• Build and maintain relationships with agencies, brokers, producers, and internal business partners.
• Develop business propositions, identify prospects, recommend agency appointments, and promote hirify.global products.
• Conduct agency visits, lead account reviews, and provide underwriting guidance on appetite, coverage, terms, conditions, and pricing.

Requirements

• Seven years of progressively responsible commercial lines underwriting and sales experience is preferred.
• Commercial insurance underwriting experience with underwriting authority is required.
• Thorough knowledge of commercial underwriting, pricing, and coverage for middle market business.
• Experience with agency management, profitability, production, and business planning.
• Ability to exercise independent underwriting judgment and evaluate complex or competing priorities.
• A valid driver's license and safe driving record are required; heavy territory travel is expected.
