Location: Remote within the United States; travel throughout the assigned territory is required.

What you will do
- Lead underwriting for the assigned commercial surety territory and approve submissions within delegated authority.
- Analyze financial statements, credit reports, tax returns, work-in-progress schedules, and other risk information.
- Structure and negotiate pricing, capacity, collateral requirements, indemnity agreements, and other underwriting terms.
- Own regional portfolio performance, including premium growth, pricing adequacy, retention, loss ratios, and profitability.
- Develop broker and agency relationships, execute regional marketing plans, and generate profitable new business.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop commercial surety underwriters while promoting consistent underwriting practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Typically 5+ years of underwriting experience in the surety industry.
- Strong surety principles, financial statement analysis, credit underwriting, and bond-form knowledge.
- Experience developing agency relationships, generating profitable growth, and managing business development activities.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, presentation, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency with underwriting software, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe; willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory.
