Production Underwriter

Location: Remote - USA; the role is associated with Seattle, WA and requires routine or periodic travel.

Salary: $80,000–$100,000 annual

What you will do

• Review applications, inspection reports, medical reports, insurance maps, and company records to evaluate, classify, and rate risks.
• Underwrite and broker new and renewal business, including preparing indications, quotes, binders, and policies.
• Analyze exposures, catastrophe potential, insurance limits, premiums, terms, and placement requirements.
• Ensure applications, state filings, taxes, payments, coding, and policy documentation are completed accurately and promptly.
• Market to retail agency customers, develop relationships, and grow and service a book of business.
• Train processors and assistants while collaborating with producers, carriers, departments, and competitors.

Requirements

• Experience with excess and surplus lines underwriting in an agency or company environment.
• Bachelor's degree preferred, or five years of insurance experience including two years as an underwriting assistant.
• CIC or CPCU candidate status and familiarity with ISO manuals, forms, rating plans, coverages, exclusions, conditions, and terms.
• P&C state license and E&S license.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and paperless work environments.
• Acceptable motor vehicle record and minimum required vehicle insurance coverage are required because the role involves routine or periodic travel.
