Location: Hybrid in Buffalo, New York, United States; in-office work required four days per week at the One M&T Plaza office

Salary: $89,600–$149,300 annual, USD

What you will do

• Evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions, investments, and divestitures through financial analysis, valuation, structuring, and due diligence coordination.
• Perform discounted cash flow, market multiples, peer, financial statement, and capital action analysis.
• Conduct independent research and complex analytical projects involving financial modeling and forecasting.
• Build and maintain advanced forecasting models and analytical tools in collaboration with business groups.
• Prepare clear written summaries and financial trend analyses for senior management.
• Support risk management, internal controls, audit requirements, and related corporate development initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of experience, or an associate degree and at least seven years of experience in accounting, auditing, operations, or financial institutions.
• At least five years of Corporate Development or M&A experience at a bank or investment banking firm supporting banks.
• Comprehensive knowledge of finance and accounting concepts and principles.
• Proficiency in accounting and finance analysis, financial modeling, querying, and visualization tools.
• Advanced understanding of financial statements, balance sheet and income statement drivers, risk standards, and internal controls.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree or professional certification such as an MBA, CPA, or CFA; MBA and/or CFA is ideal.
