Software Applications Engineer (Semiconductor)

Salary: $90,000–$125,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop, support, configure, and customize automated test software for engineering, production, support, and semiconductor customers.
• Control and integrate thermal, mechanical, and automation equipment, including handlers and probers.
• Install, activate, calibrate, configure, and tune automated equipment while verifying system performance.
• Debug software and hardware integration issues, identify equipment design or assembly problems, and coordinate resolutions with technical and production teams.
• Translate customer application requirements into software tools, scripts, system designs, and technical specifications.
• Provide customer support, system demonstrations, operator training, maintenance documentation, and up to 20% travel.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or computer science.
• Experience with Python, C++, and C#.
• Experience building software with AI tools such as Claude or Codex.
• Knowledge of computer peripherals and ability to perform certain tasks with hand tools.
• Ability to work in person in Milpitas and support semiconductor equipment installation and service activities.

Nice to have

• Experience with thermal equipment control.
• Equipment installation, service, or maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of semiconductor or optics industries.
• Bilingual English and Mandarin communication skills.
• At least one year of related service or applications experience.
