Mechanical Engineer (Semiconductor)

What you will do

• Interface with customers and Sales to determine design requirements and review customer drawings and CAD models.
• Design custom change kits, thermal forcing systems, gantries, racks, and enclosures for semiconductor device testing.
• Develop SolidWorks 3D assemblies, 2D drawings, specifications, design calculations, and Bills of Materials.
• Conduct design reviews, feasibility studies, risk assessments, cost analyses, FMEA, simulations, and verification testing.
• Prototype, assemble, install, test, and iterate designs for functionality, manufacturability, reliability, safety, and performance.
• Support Manufacturing, field support, Sales, customer support, vendors, and engineering teams with technical assistance, processes, instructions, and engineering change orders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design and engineering.
• Proficiency in CAD software, including SolidWorks, and other engineering tools for design and analysis.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical principles, materials science, manufacturing processes, metals, and relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
• Ability to complete projects and assigned tasks in a timely manner.

Nice to have

• Experience with equipment installation, service, or maintenance.
• Knowledge of thermal equipment control.
• Experience in the semiconductor or optics industry.
• At least one year of experience in a related service or application function.
