Procurement Specialist (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Execute RFQs, supplier selection, purchase order placement, expediting, and other purchasing activities to maintain material availability.
• Lead supplier negotiations and contracting within delegated authority, ensuring compliant commercial terms and best-value outcomes.
• Manage supplier performance through scorecards, corrective actions, and escalation.
• Identify and mitigate single-source, long-lead, obsolescence, and other supply risks through dual sourcing and approved alternatives.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Quality on technical alignment, specifications, and controlled ECR/ECN implementation.
• Maintain ERP purchasing master data and support cost reduction, value engineering, make-or-buy decisions, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in procurement, buying, or purchasing within manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Experience managing suppliers in regulated or defense sectors, with strong documentation and process-compliance discipline.
• Proven negotiation experience across electronics, mechanical parts, services, or multiple other procurement categories.
• Familiarity with ERP purchasing modules, procurement processes, master-data accuracy, and audit readiness.
• Experience with long-lead items and ramp-up/NPI environments, including expedite-versus-cost trade-offs.
• Understanding of quality requirements and supplier assurance fundamentals, including incoming quality and SCAR support, is preferred.
