Procurement Engineer (Logistics)

What you will do

• Evaluate technical specifications, drawings, components, and manufacturing requirements for precision instruments.
• Source, evaluate, and qualify suppliers of technical components and services.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, delivery terms, and purchase agreements.
• Work with Engineering, Quality, Production, logistics, and production planning teams to ensure purchased materials meet technical and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor supplier performance, conduct audits, and implement corrective actions.
• Manage purchase orders, delivery expediting, supply disruptions, ERP activities, compliance, and sustainability requirements.

Requirements

• Experience understanding technical drawings, specifications, manufacturing processes, and purchasing processes.
• Experience sourcing suppliers, negotiating prices, forecasting, managing safety stock, and purchasing technical materials or services.
• Experience evaluating costs, solving supply chain issues, and working in a production environment.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office; SAP ECC experience is advantageous.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, procurement, or a related field; relevant experience may compensate for education.
• Fluent written and spoken English is required; Norwegian is advantageous but not required.
