Controls Installation Field Technician (HVAC/Controls)

Location: Tempe, Arizona; field-based work conducted on-site at customer locations. Regular travel and occasional overnight stays are required.

Salary: $40.09–$54.26 per hour

What you will do

• Install building automation, temperature control, and direct digital control systems.
• Interpret control drawings, plans, and specifications while installing conduit, enclosures, wiring, and end devices.
• Prepare installation materials, assess building layouts, anticipate difficulties, and coordinate with other trades.
• Serve as the direct customer contact while inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and servicing equipment and control systems.
• Maintain inventory, vehicles, tools, equipment, documentation, and job reports.
• Follow strict safety and asset-accountability standards and work overtime as business needs require.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Typically 2–5 years of HVAC or controls experience; technical school or formal training is preferred.
• Knowledge of low-voltage electricity, electronics troubleshooting, direct digital controls, and building control techniques.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and handheld devices such as smartphones or iPads.
• Valid driver’s license held for at least 12 months, with an acceptable driving record.
• Previous experience with DDC control systems is preferred.
