Director, Institutional Operations & Transfer Agency Services

Location: Wilmington, Delaware, United States. Eligible candidates must live within reasonable commuting distance to 1100 North Market Street, Wilmington, DE 19801. Hybrid role requiring four days per week in the office.

Salary: $141,800.00–$236,400.00 annual USD.

What you will do

• Lead multiple operational teams supporting Institutional Services and Registered Transfer Agent functions.
• Oversee bondholder recordkeeping, principal and interest payments, security transfers, account maintenance, reconciliations, and related servicing processes.
• Manage high-risk and high-value financial transactions while ensuring regulatory compliance, internal controls, and service-level commitments.
• Serve as a key contact for regulatory examinations, internal audits, external audits, compliance, risk management, and executive leadership.
• Monitor operational metrics and business intelligence to identify risks, trends, and process optimization opportunities.
• Lead system enhancements, control improvements, business continuity efforts, resource planning, and resolution of complex operational issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 9 years of relevant experience in financial services, operations, or institutional services.
• At least 3 years of leadership experience, ideally managing managers or large operational teams.
• Experience with operational leadership, risk management, regulatory requirements, process improvement, and stakeholder management.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, solve complex operational problems, and manage competing priorities.
• Residence within reasonable commuting distance of the Wilmington office and availability to work four days per week onsite are required.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree such as an MBA or master’s degree.
• Experience in wealth management, trust, capital markets, institutional services, custody, or securities operations.
• Registered Transfer Agent operations experience and knowledge of SEC Rule 17Ad requirements.
• Experience with DTCC, operational controls, reconciliations, exception management, audits, and regulatory examinations.
• Familiarity with TranStar, GPP, ACS, SEI, or similar transaction processing platforms.
