Director, Institutional Operations & Transfer Agency Services (Financial Services)

Location: Hybrid role in Wilmington, Delaware; eligible candidates must live within reasonable commuting distance of 1100 North Market Street and work four days per week in the office.

Salary: $141,800–$236,400 annual (USD)

What you will do

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for multiple institutional operations and Registered Transfer Agent teams.
• Oversee bondholder recordkeeping, principal and interest payments, security transfers, account maintenance, reconciliations, and related servicing activities.
• Lead high-risk and high-value financial transaction processing while maintaining regulatory compliance, internal controls, and service-level commitments.
• Develop managers and individual contributors while fostering accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate regulatory examinations, internal and external audits, compliance reviews, remediation efforts, and operational risk programs.
• Partner with executive leadership, technology, auditors, regulators, and service providers on strategic initiatives, system enhancements, budgets, business continuity, and complex escalations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 9+ years of relevant experience in financial services, operations, or institutional services.
• 3+ years of leadership experience, ideally managing managers or large operational teams.
• Experience with strategic leadership, risk management, regulatory oversight, process improvement, stakeholder management, and complex problem-solving.
• Knowledge of SEC Registered Transfer Agent requirements, SEC Rule 17Ad regulations, controls, reconciliations, and exception management.
• Must be able to commute to the Wilmington, Delaware office and work onsite four days per week.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree such as an MBA or Master's degree.
• Experience in wealth management, trust, capital markets, custody, securities operations, or institutional services.
• Experience with Registered Transfer Agency operations, bond servicing, money movement, wire transfers, DTCC, or other financial market infrastructure providers.
• Experience leading regulatory examinations, audits, compliance reviews, large-scale change initiatives, and operational efficiency programs.
• Familiarity with TranStar, GPP, ACS, SEI, or similar transaction-processing platforms.
