Technical Product Support Engineer (HVAC Controls)

Location: St Paul, Minnesota, United States. Onsite Monday through Thursday; choose the work location on Fridays based on work requirements.

Salary: $105,228.33–$146,720.00 annual base salary.

What you will do

• Provide phone, email, and occasional onsite technical support for building automation systems and HVAC controls.
• Troubleshoot advanced product issues for field technicians, account managers, and commercial customers.
• Support field and customer projects, including programming and commissioning.
• Create product knowledge content, technical documentation, service alerts, and product literature.
• Author product defects, lead field issue escalation reviews, and collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize fixes.
• Participate in product development, use case analysis, testing, training, and software application support.

Requirements

• 5+ years of directly applicable HVAC or automation experience.
• 5+ years of experience working with or troubleshooting building automation protocols, including BACnet, Lon, and Modbus.
• Experience with YABE, Wireshark, and other troubleshooting software; IP networking experience is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a closely related technical field is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication, decision-making, deadline management, and judgment skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while supporting software users and understanding business requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with Java, C++, C#, Python, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Microsoft SQL, Azure, AWS, JIRA, or Zendesk.
• Experience with Trane software, including TU, Rover, Synchrony, and Ensemble.
• Technical support or customer service experience.
• French, Spanish, or Portuguese language skills.
