Commercial Credit Manager

What you will do

• Lead a team responsible for underwriting, risk rating, and ongoing monitoring of commercial credit relationships.
• Assess the credit quality of major commercial clients through financial statement, cash flow, collateral, industry, and repayment analysis.
• Oversee annual reviews, interim updates, covenant monitoring, problem-loan management, early-warning indicators, and other credit surveillance activities.
• Guide complex credit structures and syndicated loans, and support regional credit officers and loan committees with timely credit decisions.
• Assign customer relationships, prioritize workflow, monitor team coverage, and review analyses before submission to credit authorities.
• Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain Commercial Credit professionals while managing performance and team operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, plus at least 9 years of related experience and 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience; alternatively, 13 years of combined higher education and work experience with the same experience requirements.
• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in financial modeling, risk assessment tools, Microsoft Office, credit risk rating models, and loan or portfolio management systems.
• Experience with complex credit structures and syndicated loans.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to maintain compliance with credit policies, regulatory standards, internal controls, and audit requirements.

Nice to have

• MBA, advanced degree, or CPA.
• Experience with Capital IQ, FactSet, and Bloomberg.
