Assembly Operator - Mechanical Production Technician (m/f/d) (Wind Turbines)

Location: West Branch, Iowa, United States; onsite production role

What you will do

• Assemble structural and mechanical wind turbine components, including nacelles, hubs, drive trains, gearboxes, bearings, and shafts.
• Use hand tools, power tools, torque tools, pneumatic and hydraulic tools, measuring instruments, and overhead cranes.
• Follow work instructions, engineering drawings, mechanical blueprints, and technical documentation.
• Perform torquing, alignment, fit-up, material handling, safety inspections, and housekeeping.
• Collaborate with quality and engineering teams on troubleshooting, root cause analysis, audits, and continuous improvement.
• Support electrical assembly operators and other production areas as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years of experience in mechanical assembly or heavy manufacturing.
• Mechanical certification or technical training, with experience in wind turbine, automotive, or industrial equipment assembly.
• Ability to read work instructions, mechanical blueprints, and technical documentation.
• Ability to achieve and maintain required crane operator certification.
• Fluent English is required for safety communication, instructions, and collaboration with supervisors and team members.
