Senior Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineer (Designer)

Location: Hybrid in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, serving the Philadelphia area

What you will do

• Coordinate plumbing and fire protection activities to deliver projects within budget and schedule.
• Design and calculate sanitary, vent, storm, process waste, domestic water, process and laboratory gas, sprinkler, and fire water systems.
• Develop plumbing schematics, one-line riser diagrams, fixture schedules, specifications, fire protection zoning plans, code analyses, and performance specifications.
• Prepare and update drawings using BIM/CAD standards, review redlines, and perform material takeoffs.
• Coordinate with architects, mechanical and process engineers, consultants, and other disciplines using Revit, AutoCAD MEP, and Navisworks to resolve design conflicts.
• Visit project sites, support construction administration, attend design and project review meetings, and ensure deliverables meet quality management criteria.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in an A/E design firm setting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and AutoCAD MEP; experience with Navisworks or similar coordination tools.
• Ability to interpret fire protection codes, including NFPA 13 and NFPA 20.
• Experience delivering designs for complex life sciences, biopharma, cell and gene therapy, or pharmaceutical facilities.
• Strong communication, organization, collaboration, and mentoring skills, with a commitment to safety, quality, environmental protection, and sustainable design.

Nice to have

• Certified Plumbing Designer (CPD) certification.
