AI Developer Platform Engineer

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco, Montreal, New York, or Toronto

Salary: $165,000–$330,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Own the internal AI developer platform across architecture, implementation, rollout, operation, and measurement.
• Build repository context infrastructure, internal MCP servers, shared agent skills, subagents, hooks, and sandboxed development environments.
• Create project templates, onboarding workflows, self-service agent infrastructure, and internal model access controls.
• Develop evaluation harnesses and instrumentation to measure AI-assisted development, including cycle time, review latency, and change failure rate.
• Integrate agents into software-development workflows such as pull-request review, test generation, incident investigation, migrations, refactoring, and codebase Q&A.
• Own permissions, secrets handling, audit trails, cost management, and guardrails for safe AI usage.

Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant industry experience building and enabling AI-native software development workflows.
• Strong proficiency in Python and/or Go for building tools used by other engineers.
• Hands-on experience shipping agentic systems using LLMs, tool calling, MCP, context management, orchestration, and failure handling.
• Deep practical fluency with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex.
• Experience with developer tooling, CI/CD, and Kubernetes/Docker fundamentals.
• Excellent written communication and the ability to create scalable documentation, templates, and examples.
