hirify.global's Centre for Cardiovascular Innovation is a multidisciplinary research centre supporting cardiovascular investigators across British Columbia.

What you will do

• Manage an assigned portfolio of research grants, clinical trials, and contracts.
• Prepare financial reports, annual budgets, cash-flow forecasts, and five-year financial plans.
• Perform account reconciliations, budget-to-actual analysis, variance analysis, expenditure review, and financial forecasting.
• Investigate financial discrepancies, assess risks, and implement or recommend corrective accounting actions.
• Advise investigators, researchers, faculty, and Centre staff on budgets, funding restrictions, compliance, and financial planning.
• Analyze workflows and internal controls and implement improvements to financial processes and budget controls.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
• Completion of at least 7 of the 14 CPA academic prerequisites.
• At least two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to reconcile accounts, analyze financial data, investigate discrepancies, and develop recommendations.
• Strong analytical, process-management, communication, organization, and prioritization skills.
• High accuracy and attention to detail, with sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality.

Nice to have

• Experience managing or supporting financial activities for research grants and clinical trials.
• Knowledge of clinical-trial finance, including sponsor invoicing, milestone payments, participant-visit reconciliation, and revenue recognition.
• Experience interpreting financial policies, funding agreements, contracts, and sponsor requirements.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Workday, and PeopleSoft.
