Sr. Project Finance Analyst

What you will do

• Own portfolio-level financial analysis for Clinical Solutions departments, covering budget health, forecast accuracy, margin performance, and financial risks.
• Oversee project finances throughout the full lifecycle, from award through closeout, maintaining financial controls and best practices.
• Analyze actuals, forecasts, and budgets to identify variance drivers, scope creep, change orders, and emerging risks.
• Develop trial operations KPIs linking enrollment, milestones, site activity, and delivery efficiency to financial outcomes.
• Create scalable Excel and Power BI dashboards and executive-ready presentations for portfolio governance and performance reviews.
• Partner with Project Management, Clinical Operations, Data Management, Finance, department heads, and senior operational leaders on planning and strategic initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent and at least 5 years of related experience.
• Strong background in project finance, FP&A, or operational finance, preferably in a CRO or clinical research environment.
• Experience analyzing clinical trial portfolios and complex project financials.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling, scenario analysis, and work with large datasets.
• Strong financial and analytical acumen, presentation skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate recommendations to senior leaders.
• Ability to work independently and adapt in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of Power BI or similar data visualization tools.
• Degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field.
• Approximately 5–8 years of relevant experience with clinical research industry expertise.
• Knowledge of clinical trial financial drivers, project lifecycles, and contract and budget mechanics.
