Senior Civil Engineer, Defence (Water Infrastructure)

Location: Hybrid role based in Adelaide, South Australia, with relocation assistance available.

What you will do

• Support the planning and design of civil infrastructure, including roads, transport, stormwater, services, utilities, and earthworks.
• Deliver detailed design work packages, engineering calculations, and interpretation of site and project data.
• Develop stormwater layouts, hydraulic checks, drainage designs, grading plans, and basic cut-and-fill inputs.
• Develop water and wastewater infrastructure layouts, tie-ins, and design checks.
• Identify discrepancies in calculations, drawings, models, and project inputs and support timely resolution.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support tenders, proposals, and client activities.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of postgraduate experience in civil, site, or infrastructure design.
• Experience with general civil design across roads, water, wastewater, and drainage.
• Exposure to Austroads, Australian Standards, and local council or authority requirements.
• Strong communication and technical and non-technical report-writing skills.
• Detail-oriented, process-driven approach with a focus on quality and checking.
• Australian citizenship and eligibility to obtain Australian Defence security clearance are required.
