Senior Mechanical Services Engineer (HVAC)

Location: Melbourne, Australia; predominantly office-based with 1 day working from home

Salary: AUD 120,000–170,000 plus superannuation and profit share

Established multidisciplinary building services engineering consultancy delivering mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic engineering solutions across diverse building projects, with offices in Melbourne and Adelaide.

What you will do

• Lead mechanical and HVAC design across building services projects.
• Deliver designs from concept through detailed documentation and completion.
• Perform engineering calculations and spatial coordination.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and consultants.
• Attend project meetings and site inspections, support construction-stage delivery, and resolve technical issues.
• Mentor junior and intermediate engineers while taking increasing ownership of mechanical discipline delivery.

Requirements

• Senior-level mechanical building services or HVAC experience.
• Strong consulting and mechanical design experience across multiple building sectors.
• Ability to deliver mechanical designs from concept through completion.
• Strong engineering calculation and technical documentation skills.
• Experience with multidisciplinary coordination and client-facing stakeholder management.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in a Tier 1 or Tier 2 consultancy.
