Director, Medical Information (Biotechnology)

Location: Remote in the United States. Travel up to 10% domestically. Employment visa sponsorship is not available; applicants must have employment rights in the United States.

Base salary: $210,000–$255,000 USD annually, plus discretionary bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Lead the strategy, operating model, governance, and continuous evolution of the Medical Information function.
• Build scalable processes, systems, SOPs, content management capabilities, and service delivery models.
• Oversee the development, review, approval, and lifecycle management of scientifically balanced and compliant medical information content.
• Manage Medical Information vendors and call center operations while improving metrics, dashboards, analytics, and operational performance.
• Analyze medical inquiry trends and evidence gaps to inform Medical Affairs strategy, scientific communications, and evidence generation.
• Build and lead a high-performing organization through coaching, talent development, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Advanced scientific or medical degree, such as PharmD, PhD, MD, or equivalent.
• At least 8 years of experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
• At least 6 years of experience in Medical Information, Medical Affairs, Medical Communications, or a related scientific function, including at least 4 years of people leadership or management.
• Experience building or leading Medical Information strategy, operations, content, governance, scalable processes, and vendor oversight.
• Strong knowledge of FDA regulations and industry guidance covering Medical Information, scientific exchange, adverse event reporting, and product quality complaints.
• Experience collaborating across Medical Affairs, Scientific Communications, Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory, Clinical Development, Legal, Compliance, and Commercial functions.

Nice to have

• Experience in neuroscience, psychiatry, CNS, or specialty therapeutics.
• Experience supporting pre-commercial Medical Affairs, commercialization readiness, or product launch planning.
