Supplier Quality Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: On-site in Austin, TX; New York, NY; San Francisco, CA; or Seattle, WA

Salary: $155,000–$199,000 per year, plus equity

Builds and operates large-scale compute infrastructure for frontier AI, including power systems and data centers across hardware and software.

What you will do

• Develop supplier capability through hands-on process audits, capability studies, and improvement plans at supplier sites.
• Qualify new suppliers and parts through first articles, PPAP-style approvals, and launch support through production ramp.
• Investigate supplier quality issues at the root cause on the supplier floor and implement corrective actions with supplier teams.
• Build supplier capacity ahead of demand by identifying and resolving bottlenecks before they affect production lines.

Requirements

• Experience in supplier quality or supplier development engineering within manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience auditing supplier processes, including capability, controls, and manufacturing culture.
• Experience resolving supplier problems on site rather than managing them only through email.
• Experience running first articles and PPAP with rigor and speed.
• Ability to improve supplier performance without taking over the supplier’s responsibilities.

Nice to have

• Experience with welding and fabrication suppliers.
• Experience with machining and coatings suppliers.
• Knowledge of SPC, MSA, and FMEA core tools.
• Willingness to work in a travel-heavy role.
