Quality Engineer

Location: Onsite in Boulder, Colorado, United States

Salary: $100,000–$130,000 per year, depending on experience

What you will do

• Review, investigate, and disposition nonconforming products, including containment, risk assessment, corrective actions, and issue closure.
• Support production quality activities and provide guidance on product acceptance, deviations, and quality requirements.
• Lead product, process, and customer quality investigations using structured problem-solving and root cause analysis.
• Develop and verify corrective actions, monitor quality metrics, and analyze SPC and MSA results.
• Maintain risk management activities such as pFMEAs and assess the quality impact of manufacturing, equipment, material, and design changes.
• Support audits and continuous improvement initiatives while partnering with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, customers, and suppliers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Physical Sciences, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent education and experience.
• 3+ years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience investigating quality issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
• Working knowledge of SPC, MSA, FMEA, CAPA, 5 Why, and root cause analysis.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, technical writing, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and drive issues to closure.
• Position is onsite in Boulder, Colorado, and involves information subject to ITAR.

Nice to have

• Experience with customer complaints, RMAs, and customer-facing quality activities.
• ISO 9001 internal or lead auditor training.
• Experience with statistics, process capability analysis, Power BI, SQL, Minitab, SAP, or similar tools.
• Experience in precision manufacturing, regulated industries, or technical manufacturing environments.
