Vice President, Strategic Program Management Office (SPMO) (Robotics)

Location: Fully remote within the United States, with an option to work hybrid from a commutable distance from offices in Salem, Oregon; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; or Fremont, California. Current authorization to work in the United States is required.

Salary: $250,000–$390,000 USD base salary annually, plus equity and other compensation.

Builds commercially available humanoid robots for warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and distribution centers, scaling from breakthrough engineering and pilot deployments to high-volume product delivery.

What you will do

• Build, lead, and grow the Strategic Program Management Office, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management of Technical Program Managers.
• Establish consistent program management methodologies, tools, operating cadences, gate reviews, milestone tracking, and risk registers.
• Own portfolio-level prioritization, sequencing, resourcing, interdependencies, and tradeoffs across new product launch programs.
• Align engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, quality, finance, and commercial teams around milestones and commitments.
• Lead executive program reviews and provide data-driven status, risk, and decision recommendations to the COO and executive staff.
• Identify at-risk programs, drive recovery plans, manage budgets and resources, and improve execution predictability as production scales.

Requirements

• 12+ years of technical program or project management experience, including 5+ years managing program or technical program managers.
• Experience leading NPI or NPD programs in hardware, robotics, automotive, aerospace, or complex electromechanical products.
• Experience building or scaling a PMO or SPMO in a fast-growing organization.
• Strong executive communication skills, including presenting program status, risks, and tradeoffs to C-suite and board-level audiences.
• Deep knowledge of stage-gate processes, risk management, critical path and schedule management, and earned value or equivalent methods.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field; PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience in robotics, humanoid or mobile robotics, or advanced automation.
• Experience taking hardware and integrated software products from pilot production through volume manufacturing ramp.
• Familiarity with Smartsheet, Jira, Monday, or similar program management and portfolio reporting tools.
• An MBA or technical master’s degree.
