RCM Direct Billing Specialist (Healthcare)

Location: Remote within the United States; corporate roles are not hired in Alaska, Arkansas, Delaware, Hawaii, Maine, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Vermont, or Wisconsin. Office hubs are in Denver and San Francisco.

Salary: $54,500–$70,500/year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Manage daily accounts receivable activities for direct-billed employer clients, including cash application, payment matching, account reviews, and follow-up on outstanding balances.
• Monitor AR aging, investigate discrepancies, support collections, and escalate complex or high-risk issues.
• Research and resolve billing questions involving invoice amounts, billing periods, member counts, credits, and payment application.
• Collaborate with Finance, Product, Client Success, and Revenue Cycle Management to resolve billing issues and maintain accurate client-facing information.
• Reconcile data across Zuora, NetSuite, Athena, and related reporting systems.
• Prepare AR aging and billing reports, maintain documentation, follow billing controls, and recommend workflow improvements.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, revenue cycle management, or a related operational function.
• Experience with subscription, SaaS, PMPM, healthcare, employer benefits, or another recurring billing environment.
• Working knowledge of cash application, invoice-level payment matching, AR aging, account reconciliation, and billing discrepancy research.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate with Finance, Product, Client Success, and other cross-functional partners.
• Proactive use of AI tools to improve individual output and efficiency.
• Must be eligible for remote work in an approved US state.
