Engineering Manager, Tapestry (AI)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States; flexible hybrid work model.

Salary: $207,000–$304,000 base salary per year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Recruit, hire, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team.
• Establish the technology foundation, tools, and technical strategy for global deployments.
• Architect distributed systems capable of large-scale data processing and complex modeling.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, Data Science, Machine Learning, and Power Systems specialists.
• Translate complex energy requirements into reliable enterprise software.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance and resolve critical design and implementation bottlenecks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 3+ years in a technical leadership role overseeing strategic projects, including 2+ years of direct people management.
• 8+ years building and maintaining highly scalable, reliable cloud-based production systems; GCP experience is preferred.
• Experience with large-scale data processing, backend services, and frontend design for enterprise-grade applications.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to explain complex ML and software concepts to diverse audiences.

Nice to have

• Background in power systems, electrical engineering, or grid optimization.
• Experience with RDF or other graph database technologies.
• Experience in high-growth environments with changing requirements.
• Familiarity with modern software development practices for global enterprise partners.
