Salary: $186,701–$233,376 USD per year.

What you will do

• Lead, hire, onboard, coach, and develop a software engineering team.
• Own quarterly delivery, service reliability, performance, uptime, and latency targets.
• Review technical designs and code and guide architectural trade-offs for the Metadata product area.
• Drive incident response, bug resolution, technical debt reduction, post-mortems, and SLA adherence.
• Partner with product and business stakeholders to prioritize the backlog and communicate engineering strategy and impact.
• Establish effective delegation, team autonomy, performance management, and AI-assisted software development practices.

Requirements

• Experience managing and growing software engineering teams through hiring, coaching, performance, and career-development cycles.
• Strong technical foundation in distributed, cloud-based systems, including design and code review.
• Track record of delivering complex projects while maintaining high standards for quality, reliability, and performance.
• Experience owning production services, incident response, on-call practices, technical debt, and SLAs.
• Strong planning, prioritization, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Fluent use of AI code assistants, coding agents, and conversational AI across the software development lifecycle.

Nice to have

• Experience with metadata, catalog, lineage, or discovery/search systems.
• Experience with GraphQL APIs and high-throughput, multi-tenant data services.
• Familiarity with analytics engineering and the dbt ecosystem.
• Experience supporting enterprise or single-tenant customers with strict reliability and latency requirements.
