Senior Design Engineer

Location: Peoria, Illinois, United States; onsite five days a week. Domestic relocation is available for qualified candidates. Approximately 10% domestic and international travel is expected.

Salary: $112,710–$169,060 per year

What you will do

• Lead technical aspects of current-production medium wheel loader design control and worldwide production.
• Act as the engineering or product group leader for major quality events affecting machine shipments.
• Coordinate top-level product updates and changes across engineering, manufacturing, vehicle plants, commercial teams, and product change coordinators.
• Serve as an L6 subject matter expert for current-production medium wheel loader products and processes.
• Lead engineering system teams in developing product improvements and attachments that meet customer and business needs.
• Support manufacturing facilities during production ramp-up and new source introductions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Strong technical, analytical, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects and coordinating global teams.
• Experience with Creo and Teamcenter or similar design software.
• Ability to develop solutions for significant technical issues involving quality, production velocity, and cost.
• Ability to work onsite in the Peoria, Illinois office five days per week.

Nice to have

• Project design engineering and medium wheel loader product development experience.
• Technical expertise with wheel loader machines and applications.
• Concurrent development experience involving design, manufacturing, assembly, product support, plants, or suppliers.
• Experience with MRP, demand and ordering, and product support systems.
• Leadership, mediation, presentation, and consensus-building skills.
