Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Mechanical Design)

Location: Lakewood, Colorado, USA

Salary: $101,500–$127,000 base compensation per year; 12% annual bonus opportunity and a $10,000 annual equity award.

What you will do

• Lead the design and development of complex mechanical systems, components, and assemblies from concept through production.
• Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and engineering specifications using advanced CAD tools.
• Perform and oversee stress, thermal, dynamic, vibration, fluid-flow, structural, material, and failure analyses using FEA, CFD, and related methods.
• Lead prototyping, testing, validation planning, and design iteration based on test data.
• Serve as technical lead for major projects, managing priorities, timelines, budgets, technical decisions, and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, manufacturing, operations, supply chain, customers, suppliers, and project management teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering involving complex systems and products.
• Expertise in mechanical design principles, material selection, engineering analysis, CAD modeling, assembly design, and technical drawings.
• Experience leading cross-functional or multidisciplinary projects and mentoring junior and mid-level engineers.
• Ability to solve complex engineering problems and deliver designs on schedule, within budget, and to quality requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.
