Director, Automation Engineering (AI)

Location: Fully remote from a non-hirify.global worksite, most commonly an employee’s residence; company location: New York, United States.

Salary: $165,000–$210,000 annually, plus bonus and long-term incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead the design and delivery of internal AI agents and automation workflows using Snowflake Cortex, LangChain, LangGraph, or similar frameworks.
• Develop reusable tools, APIs, Python libraries, and components for agentic workflows, audience activation, measurement, and reporting.
• Establish evaluation harnesses, regression testing, monitoring, guardrails, and validation patterns for reliable AI-agent behavior.
• Oversee production-grade software engineering practices, including modular design, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, documentation, and code reviews.
• Productize clean room and data collaboration workflows covering audience onboarding, activation, campaign analysis, attribution, and incrementality.
• Hire, mentor, and retain software and AI engineers while setting technical standards for production automation and agentic systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in computer science, information systems, software engineering, electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including leading and mentoring engineering teams.
• Deep hands-on experience building production-grade Python libraries, services, tests, CI/CD pipelines, and code reviews.
• Hands-on experience with LLM applications, RAG, vector databases, prompt engineering, or frameworks such as Snowflake Cortex, LangChain, and LangGraph.
• Experience designing AI-enabled workflows, reasoning agents, tool-using agents, or complex automation systems.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar technologies, plus strong production system design knowledge.

Nice to have

• Experience with data clean rooms, including Snowflake Clean Rooms, Databricks Clean Rooms, LiveRamp, or Habu.
• Experience with advertising technology, audience activation, campaign delivery, reach and frequency, attribution, incrementality, or reporting.
• Snowflake SnowPro Core, Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate, or a similar cloud or data platform certification.
