Senior Director, Quality Engineering (AI)

Location: New York City, hybrid; office attendance required 2–3 days per week at 60 Madison Avenue. Candidates must be based in the NYC metro area or able to relocate independently within 90 days.

Salary: $230,000–$250,000 annual base salary, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Define and execute enterprise Quality Engineering strategy across the AI-native software development lifecycle.
• Build testing and evaluation frameworks for AI products, LLM applications, and agentic workflows.
• Deploy AI agents for test generation, regression testing, defect analysis, release readiness, and engineering productivity.
• Establish scalable functional, integration, performance, security, accessibility, and end-to-end testing practices.
• Build reusable testing platforms, automation frameworks, and CI/CD quality tooling.
• Lead a distributed Quality Engineering organization and partner with Engineering, Product, Design, Infrastructure, Security, Data Science, Privacy, Clinical, and AI teams.

Requirements

• Experience leading and scaling Quality Engineering organizations across multiple product teams in high-growth environments.
• Deep expertise in test automation architecture, modern frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, pytest, and Jest, CI/CD integration, API and contract testing, performance testing, and resilience testing.
• Experience building evaluation systems for AI, ML, or LLM-powered products, including eval harnesses, golden datasets, LLM-as-judge, model and prompt regression testing, red-teaming, and guardrail validation.
• Experience deploying AI-assisted tooling or agents into the software development lifecycle with measurable productivity gains.
• Experience with regulated or high-consequence domains, including HIPAA, SOC 2, PHI-safe test data, auditability, and traceability.
• Must be based in the NYC metro area or able to relocate independently within 90 days; hybrid office attendance is required.
